Tonya Kipple - Learning Specialist & High School Psychology
I do not believe there has ever been a time in my life when I have not worked with children. I received a B.S. from Carson-Newman University with a triple major (Education, Special Education and Developmental Psychology). My Masters degree from Johns Hopkins University is in Special Education: Education of the Severe/Profound. I hold a WA state teaching certification and have taught both Special Education and regular education classes. For 20 years I served as a Director of Children's Ministry in my church. My greatest joy is to be given opportunities to lead children to Salvation in Jesus Christ! This year at Crosspoint I am teaching a class in psychology and building a new program for the school called Student Support Services.
Although my Dad was a Lt. Colonel in the U.S. Army and we moved quite a bit, I spent most of my childhood years in Maryland right outside the DC beltway. After college, I married my best friend, Blair, and we moved to Washington state. We have been tremendously blessed by our four grown children (Joel, Bethany, Brittany and Micah) who all live within driving distance. I am "Gramsy" to two adorable little boys, Javan and Zak, who make me giggle and keep me current on superheroes and gummy bears. One of my favorite verses is Proverbs 3:5-6: "Trust the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways, acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths." I am honored to share His Truth with the students at Crosspoint as the Learning Specialist and the Psychology teacher. As I serve my mighty God, I pray that my faith will grow deeper and deeper and God will reveal his enormity and love for me as well. May I serve Him in all I say and do.
