John Thornton - M.S. Math & H.S. Science
My name is John Thornton. I am originally from North East, PA. I earned my bachelor's degree in Education from Grand Canyon University as well as a master's degree in Educational Leadership from St. Thomas University and I am currently working on an Ed.D from Grand Canyon University. My first teaching position was at West Sound Technical Skill Center in Bremerton WA, where I taught Biomedical Science. I then moved to Peace Lutheran School where I was the middle school science teacher and the Athletic Director.
Before becoming a teacher, I spent 21 years in the Navy as a Hospital Corpsman. I spent time with Marine Corps units as well as two Submarines. I met my wife Michelle while we we’re both stationed in Annapolis, MD. We have been married for 20 years. We have two grown children (Alanna and Ethan) and two dogs (Tony and Franklin).
When I am not in the classroom or going to school myself, you will find me either watching a soccer game or coaching.
