John Anderson - Math
I have been working as a teacher of some sort ever since I ended up as a summer camp instructor in my early teen years. I have a B.S. in Mathematics from Seattle University and a Master of Theological Studies from the University of Dallas. For the past 18 years I have been teaching Math and Theology at O’Dea High School in Seattle. I am excited to be teaching here at Crosspoint where I will continue teaching my favorite courses: Geometry, Pre-Calculus and AP Calculus. I am also hoping to return to coaching as an assistant track coach.
I grew up in Seattle and worked my way through college as a lifeguard and swimming coach. In 1989, my wife and I moved our family to Bremerton and began attending Our Lady Star of the Sea Church where I taught in the middle school and later worked as youth minister while we raised our growing family. Except for our son in the U.S. Army, all of our adult children live in the state of Washington. Our youngest son, my wife and I enjoy spending time with them and their families as well as camping, hiking, running 5 K races and just being outdoors. As a teacher and coach, and as a husband and father I have always tried to keep in mind that we do what we do, “in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.” (1 Peter 4:11)
