Dawn Vonheeder - Second Grade
I am a graduate of Western Washington University, with a B.A. in Elementary/Special Education. My experience has been with fifth grade, second grade and fourth grade. I did my student teaching a fourth grade classroom. After I graduated, I was a substitute with the public schools and did long-term sub assignments in the middle schools. After watching my children’s classrooms overfill, I took them out to home school for two years. I have since taken the second grade position at Crosspoint and I’m very excited to be part of such a wonderful school.
Kitsap County has been my home for the last ten years. I grew up in Oregon, where I met my husband! Due to him being in the Navy, we moved often to many different places throughout the States. I now live in the Manette area in Bremerton and plan to stay here for many years to come. I have three children who call Crosspoint home. We joined the school last year after I home schooled them for several years. I have always been active in children’s ministries throughout our many different duty stations. Our family currently goes to Gracepoint Church and I have been involved in their children’s ministry for over six years.
I tried many times to find a different career, but always felt full of energy when I taught. I finally stopped fighting against what God was planning for me to do. I cannot tell you how much I love to teach!
