Alisa Hanson - Fourth Grade
God gave me a heart for children early on in life and have enjoyed working alongside them ever since. In 1993, I graduated from Central Washington University with honors, majoring in K-8 Elementary Education and a minor in K-12 Reading. During my first year of teaching, I had the chance to begin my Masters in Curriculum & Instruction through City University and completed that in 1995. I taught for 9 years in public school, teaching a variety of grades, until I had the opportunity to stay home with my own children for a few years. When it was time for them to head to school, we chose Christian education, specifically King's West at the time, and they have been here ever since. I was pleased to join the teaching staff here in 2007, when my youngest started kindergarten. I currently teach 3rd & 4th grade and they bring smiles to my heart every day.
I am blessed to call Washington my home my entire life, calling a few towns home along the way. My family currently resides in Port Orchard and we keep busy with all the activities our 12 & 14 year old girls, Marissa & Ashlyn, are involved in. My husband and I enjoy spending time together watching football, specifically the SEAHAWKS. We attend church in Gig Harbor at Chapel Hill. My life verse, which I share with my students each year is, "I can do all things (even long division) through Christ who gives me strength" (Philippians 4:13) I want them to know that God is with them every step of the way and all they have to do is tap into His strength.
